INSPIRED - An art book by ArtOrder

Art Book: INSPIRED by ArtOrder

It’s finally here: INSPIRED by ArtOrder! Just a few days ago this little pearl of an art book came in the mail. It’s a 132 pages, soft cover, perfect bound book that features a juried selection of illustrations from more than 30 international illustrators. I previously mentioned the pre-order here on the blog, although the pre-order is over but you can still pick up the book over on the ArtOrder site.

The selection of art work is beautiful but my favourite part are the ‘Inspiration’ blurbs each artist have written to go along with their illustration. It’s always so intriguing to me to see where people get their inspiration from and which thoughts went into a creation.  I’ve attached photos of a few of my favourites below, along with the pieces I was very honored to have included into the book.

Not only is this a great little book but with it Jon Schindehette is trying to create a new publishing model, that allows the artists to reap the rewards of their creative talent by splitting the profits between all involved parties.

I hope you enjoy this little look at the book! If you’re interested in picking up a copy of the book just hit the button below, also it’d be lovely if you’d help us spread the word by sharing. Thank you!

“(…) I was hooked on the more traditional, and often darker, versions of fairy tales I had grown up hearing. Even though the same stories have been told countless times in countless ways I keep finding new inspiration in them, no matter how old I get.”

“There a spark in children. They glow with potential, they build, they make stories, they sing, they dance, they learn. Curiousity and Creativity are expressions of the same value. (…)”

(…) What might the world look like if we were much smaller or much bigger? A once common object can become a whole lot more interesting if we re-imagine its size. I thoroughly enjoy mixing elements of scale which was a key part in how this illustration came to life. (…)
