This is why every artist needs a cat

``I think the artist and cat are kindred spirits, because they are often mythologized.``
-Alison Nastasi

Cats make wonderful pets, no doubt of it but even more so they make great companions for artists. Cats do not require as much attention as dogs, they’e oft content to simply co-exist in your space. Perhaps the feline companions are also good for our inner calm, midst the craze of the creation process? The cat is the master of zen after all.

I’m not sure what the answer is, but many famous artists such as Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo and Yoko Ono had feline companions. It is a tendency that is still popular to this day and here is the proof; the many feline friends of contemporary fantasy Illustrators.

Enjoy!

I couldn’t imagine my studio without a cat (or two). Thank you, Kiri!
