[vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” video=”” css_animation=””][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]I’m very excited to show you my most recent personal piece: The Fairy Rescue! I’ve been work on it in between the tarot cards and finished it today, just in time to have it printed for the Special Edition: NYC convention in June.
The illustration is a new highlight for me, I tried to really push my values and with this piece finished I finally felt confident enough to toss the Little Red Riding Hood illustration from my portfolio, which was long overdue! Tip: Don’t keep artwork in your portfolio that is years old.
I received a lot of positive feedback on the process gifs I’ve been sharing of my tarot cards, so I made one for this piece as well. I didn’t start out with a full black and white sketch this time. I did a few thumbnail studies in my sketchbook and then jumped straight into color. I explore a lot as I paint and come up with many of my ideas along the way, therefore it can be difficult to do a full rendered sketch ahead of the painting process, when I am not working from a client’s art order.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]
