In order to give my portfolio more of a turn towards children’s book illustration, I set out to create a selection of spot illustrations in 2013. The most successful were three drawings of a little Mouse character who following a suggestions from followers my Facebook page was named Montague Mouse.

I really like the character and I hope to be able to write a story around him once my schedule clears up a little.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” icon_pack=”font_awesome” content_menu_fe_icon=”arrow_back” text_align=”left” padding_top=”10″ padding_bottom=”10″][vc_column width=”1/1″][blockquote text=”I imagine Montague Mouse is a skittish little fellow with a deep love of acorns, perhaps he was raised by a lone Squirrel, but now someone is trying to steal his acorns and so he must set out of a grand adventure to save them.” show_quote_icon=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]I have recently colored in one of the illustrations to use for promotion mailers for children’s book publishers. I will write a more in detail blog post about how to put together a solid promotion mailer when I receive my newly ordered postcards.

If you enjoy Montague Mouse, I do have limited edition, signed prints of the black and white version of Montague Mouse and the great Acorn Escape available in my Etsy store for $10 a piece. I also have the original drawings up for sale.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” icon_pack=”font_awesome” content_menu_fe_icon=”arrow_back” text_align=”left” padding_top=”10″ padding_bottom=”10″][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]drawing of mouse in leaf boat with acorns[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” icon_pack=”font_awesome” content_menu_fe_icon=”arrow_back” text_align=”left” padding_top=”10″ padding_bottom=”10″][vc_column width=”1/2″][qbutton fe_icon=”arrow_back” target=”_self” text=”Buy Limited Edition Print” link=”https://kirileonard.com/product/limited-edition-montague-mouse/”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][qbutton fe_icon=”arrow_back” target=”_self” text=”Buy Color Print” link=”https://kirileonard.com/product/giclee-print-montague/”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” type=”full_width” icon_pack=”font_awesome” content_menu_fe_icon=”arrow_back” text_align=”left” padding_top=”10″ padding_bottom=”10″][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this little look at Montague Mouse in colors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

If you ever illustrate a critter-type tarot, this guy has GOT to be in it! I looked at him and immediately thought “Cool tarot card!” It’s not, of course, but I can see it in a deck for sure.

I like that idea, that would be really cute.
