Personal Work: Trail of the Unicorn

Last year I did a small series of unicorn studies with the thought of producing a unicorn calendar. I’m still toying around with the idea and here is the third painting I have produced for it thus far.

Some of my inspiration for this piece is the Neverending Story where Artax sinks into the Swamps of Sorrow, obviously this isn’t a take on that scene as this unicorn is happily wading through the water.

He has something to show you in the otherworld, just follow his trail.

    This is a masterpiece. The lighting is so soft but perfect, the narration makes me feel the hardship this poor unicorn is experiencing. But at the same time there’s something that tells me there will be good times past this trial.

    This is such a gorgeous painting. It really draws me in and makes me want to dive into this environment to explore further and see more.
