Recently I have been busy trying to finish up my Trollkin calendar and get it all ready for print before IlluxCon this Thursday – today I accomplished that goal!

I have ordered the proof print which should be here around November 16th and all things willing, I can then order the full batch. It’s been a really interesting and challenging creation process. I have been very happy to see that I have learned a lot of the last year and have been able to produce much stronger and more interesting images. I have also really enjoyed researching Scandinavian folklore as base for the illustrations.

Trollkin Calendar Illustration: March

‘Slattenpat’ is a female troll of legend in Denmark.
She is the target of the Wild Hunt, that in danish folklore is led by King Volmer. Slattenpat, whose name translates to saggy bobbs, throws her saggy boobs over her shoulders to run faster, in hope to escape the King but he always hunts her down and slays her. However the next night she rises again to attempt escape once more.
