Personal piece, done for the #MerMay challenge.
“It was an old world that slept in the deep. It had been there for as long as she could remember. The ornamentation of barnacles and seaweed gave it an almost ghostly appearance.
She had made her home there. Her own little castle in what was once a captain’s cabin. She liked collecting the white objects with the blue markings she found in cupboards throughout the wreckage. They had curious drawings, perhaps they were magical markings? She didn’t know, but surely they were sacred. They were so pretty after all, like nothing else in the deep.”
